Since his first major solo exhibitions in Italy, 1948 and at Gimpel Fils, 1950,
Alan Davie has influenced generations of new artists, his presence as one of the
great artistic talents of the 20th century continuing to be felt worldwide.

This exhibition which coincides with the artists 90th birthday, includes work chosen with the artist; providing a glimpse of Alan Davies incredible vision and energy.

RICHARD WINCER

An exhibition of recent paintings

Since his return to Yorkshire in the early 1990's Richard Wincer has quietly been painting and printmaking in his Hebden Bridge studio. This impressive new series of paintings marks a major point in the development of his work, towards a more abstracted landscape based art.

Richard initially studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths College and after graduating in 1974 he remained in London producing sculpture, installations and site- specific work.

During the 1980's he exhibited at some of the most prestigious public art galleries in London including the Serpentine and the Hayward Gallery.

His work has been shown in numerous London and regional galleries including Kettles Yard - Cambridge, Arnolfini - Bristol, Third Eye - Glasgow, Abbotts Hall - Kendal.

STEPHEN BIRD

Ceramic Works

Born in Stoke on Trent, Bird studied fine art at Duncan and Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, with a post graduate year spent at Cyprus Art College.

Having trained as a painter he now works across a range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, ceramics and digital animation.

Bird exhibits widely throughout the United Kingdom, Australia and the USA and his work is held in many international collections including the National Museum of Scotland, and Artbank Australia.

He has undertaken a number of significant commissions and is featured in numerous publications including Contemporary Ceramics published by Thames & Hudson 2009.

His work has most recently been shown in Collect @ The Saatchi Gallery, and Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and a solo show at the Scottish gallery, Edinburgh.

Stephen Bird currently lectures at the National Art School, Sydney.
