This first exhibition dedicated to Joash Woodrows' 'Figurative Paintings' includes works produced between the early 1950's - mid 1970's and contains many surprises which have helped to enhance our understanding of an artist of whom so little is known. With more than 4,500 pictures now catalogued the Joash woodrow legacy provides an unparalleled opportunity to study the entire output of an artist, who until 2001 had remained completely hidden from public view and critical attention. Now, for the first time, we are able to examine and develop a clearer understanding of Joash's art and his relationship to the world around him
A fifty page catalogue with an introductory essay by Nicholas Usherwood is now available.
