Sir Peter Blake RA

Born in Dartford, Kent in 1932, Peter Blake studied at Gravesend School of Art and at the Royal College of Art. Described by many as the godfather of British Pop Art, Blake incorporates a distinctive painterly style with elements taken from glamour pictures, postcards, album covers and advertisements. His unique collage approach has helped him create some of the most iconic images of the last century. Blake's work is held in numerous international collections and major retrospective exhibitions of his work were held at the Tate Gallery in 1983 and 2007. He continues to live and work in London.
